Geocache Description:

A straight up letterbox hybrid cache for you to enjoy.

As a true letterbox hybrid cache, the posted coordinates will take you to a starting point for this cache. From there, you will need to follow the Letterbox Clues below to find the container. Once you find the container, you can sign the log in true geocaching fashion and/or stamp the log in true letterboxing style. There is a hand-carved stamp in the cache for you to stamp your letterboxing journal. Please remember that this hand-carved stamp is *NOT* a trade item and *NEEDS* to stay in the cache.

Letterbox Clues:
Step 0
At the posted coordinates you should find yourself at the corner of a historic structure.
Step 1
To gauge the length of your walk to the hiding place, walk the longer length of this structure counting your steps.
Step 2
Return to the posted coordinates.
Step 3
Now walk from your current location, the posted coordinates, three and a half times the number of steps you counted in Step 1 on a bearing of 315 degrees. (Watch out for the briars, brambles, and thorns; at certain times of the year, they are kind of fierce.)
Step 4
Find the cache and stamp in and out if you have a stamp. (Oh yeah, please remember to B.Y.O.I. That stands for 'bring your own ink.')
Step 5
The cache is a little larger than a sandwich-sized container; if you would like to trade items, then please do so. Remember to trade even or up.
Step 6
Rehide the cache as found.

While hunting, you might want to listen to Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf since that is the name of this cache.

"Stalked in the forest, too close to hide
I'll be upon you by the moonlight side.
High blood drumming on your skin, it's so tight
You feel my heat, I'm just a moment behind.
In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
A scent and a sound, I'm lost and I'm found.
And I'm hungry like the wolf.
Strut on a line, it's discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine, I'm after you
Mouth is alive, all running inside.
And I'm hungry like the wolf."

The stamp is hand-carved and because of the cache's title and the song it is suppose to look like a howling wolf. (There is also another connection between the song and the cache although it is very elusive.)

This cache is located in Hallowing Point Park along Rt. 231 in Calvert County, MD. The park, along with some geocaching, has a lot to offer; take a look at the park map.

The park's hours change depending on the season; please plan accordingly.
Mid-March to Mid-November:
8:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Winter Hours:
8:00 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.

One last note: with snow on the ground, this one will be a bit more challenging to find.

Happy huntin'!
