This cache is located in plain site inside the visitor center of Bogue Chitto State Park with park manager's permission. I chose to put this cache inside so that it will be eyed on a regular basis. There is a $3 entrance fee but don't be discouraged because not only is it a great place to visit and enjoy with family and friends, it also has several other caches located throughout the park.
We offer camping, sightseeing, picnicking, swimming, playground, and tubing and canoeing, so come out and enjoy the park. The cache is a wooden box in plain site and can be accessed by a person in a wheelchair. This is a letterbox cache with two stamps that compliment the life cycle of the butterfly, one being a caterpillar and the other a butterfly. Please do not take the stamps but do stamp your own personal book. Please also use your own personal stamp to stamp my log book and date. It is also a place for cachers to leave trackables. There are many in state visitors as well as out of state visitors who may choose to leave or pick up trackables. I work every weekend at the park so I will be glad to swap a few cache stories. I have talked to campers who have visited from as far as Canada and Australia. There will be no swag in this cache to trade so that there is no mistaking a trackable for a tradable. I think that is why so many trackables are MIA. This is a great park to visit even if you are only caching so be sure to check out the whole park before leaving. You are looking for a wooden box for now but it will be replaced with a different container once I get through with it. If you are not sure if you can relocate a trackable to another cache please do not take any but please discover them. Please don’t forget to stamp or sign the log book.
