Geocache Description:

Spirit Quest - FirGrove Cemetery. Cache container is located in the back of the cemetery but near the street. While it might be possible to access the cache from the street it would be best to park in the church parking lot at the parking coordinates and walk to though the cemetery to access it. As with any cemetery cache please be respectful of any mourners or services. The cache is NOT near any graves.

The Firgrove Cemetery was originally called the Lebam cemetery. In 1890 Joe Goddell founded and named this small community and named it after his daughter. His Daughter's name was Mabel and he simply spelled her name backwards. Lebam. The cemetery was dedicated in May of 1891, and has never been plotted. Because it was not plotted and there are no official records it is hard to tell but it appears that the first burial was in 1895 and the last burial in 1941.

While there are no fences around the cemetery, and no posted hours, I ask that the cacher only search for this cache during daylight hours out of respect for the cemetery. While you are here please take your time and look around, and enjoy all of the history here, but remember to be respectful, since the cemetery has been inactive since 1941 it is unlikely that you will run into any mourners, but please be respectful of the grounds and any possible visitors that might not understand what we are doing. The cache is NOT located near any graves.

The cache is located off the backside of the cemetery near the street, please park in the Church parking lot at the parking coordinates, and walk though the cemetery to the cache. The cache is located just outside the back of the cemetery near the fence, the hint is a give away. Cache container is one of my signature cylindrical containers.

Congratulations goes to Hope4U, CascadesClimber and GeoMimi55 for the first to find together on 2-05-14
