Beech Fork State Park was officially opened in the winter of 1979 and offers 3,144 acres of some of the best recreation experiences in the southwestern section of West Virginia. Beech Fork State Park is located just south of Huntington and Barboursville and is a short drive from Charleston WV, Cincinnati OH, and Lexington KY. Developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the mid 1970's, Beech Fork Lake has owned up to its popularity for recreation boating and along with kayaking, pontoon boats, and canoeing, fishing and wildlife watching experiences. It also has a very nice swimming pool, many hiking trails, biking, picnic shelters, basketball and tennis courts, cabins, camping, and geocaches. The second and third oldest caches in West Virginia are located in Beech Fork.

To get this cache, park at parking coordinates. While the distance to the cache is not far, you may get very thirsty so we'd recommend you take some water with you.

Special thanks to oldnavy59 for hiding this cache.
