This town's history is rich and began as a hub during the railroad days. It was a main stopping point between Yorkton and Saskatoon! In 1963, the potash mine was developed. It was started by Alwinsal Potash and in 1962 there were 450 people and this boom increased the population to 1860 by the mid 70's!! This is what the town is known for today. Also, Poundmaker Feed Lot and Ethanol Plant, Farming, and also hog barns.
