Foxy Roxy Rocks Again Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

leenah: As the current owner of this cache since 2014, I paid a visit today to assess its condition. The area has indeed attracted rude graffiti, vandalism, and littering. It is nothing like it once was. There is so much broken glass throughout the area, it defies cleanup. Two of us searched in vain for the cache container. It is an embarrassment to say the least. Therefore I think the safe thing to do is archive it.

Geocache Description:

The original Foxy Roxy (GC4AF3) was archived in July of 2013, but since it was our very first find after becoming geocachers and it has special meaning to many other geocachers as well, we have put it back in action.

This cache was originally created by an 8th grade Hawaii Preparatory Academy student for extra credit in her science class and hidden in 2002. She was given the opportunity to create and help hide a cache. Her requirements for the cache is that at least one person in the group searching and hopefully finding this cache will be female. All contents of the cache were oriented to girls rather than boys.

In order to find this cache the searchers must be familiar with three hawaiian terms: a'a, pahoehoe, and puka. So either using the internet, books or asking people, you must find out what these words mean.

To find the cache, park at the overlook, and follow the boundary where the a'a and the pahoehoe come together. When you are near the coordinates, look for a puka about 1 by 3 feet.

Many thanks to MedicOne and Jake39 for helping to keep this cache alive!
