A group of ducks in the water is called a raft, a team or a paddling … and that is where our story starts…Henry couldn’t wait to grow up. He felt like a big question mark in this group of water loving ducks. He was puzzled. He didn’t want to be a cute, little, yellow duckling. He was tired of the fluff. He wanted to be cool. He wanted to follow his own path. He didn’t want to paddle anymore. He wanted to waddle. He wanted to QUACK at the top of his lungs. So Henry set off. He paddled across the great water and came ashore in this strange but beautiful place. It was scary at first because Henry couldn’t find his way. He was alone. One day though, Henry met another group of Quackers on land. They were a very sociable group. They took Henry under their wing and soon Henry felt part of this crazy unique group of Quackers. A group of Quackers on land is called a ‘badlynge’ (pronounced bad ling). The Quackers helped Henry find himself. Even though Henry will always have his origins on the water, Henry was happy that the Quackers had helped him find his way through this maze of his life. Henry now travels with his new family but left a memento in the area that he landed so that everyone that helped him find his way could sign his book.
