Geocache Description:

PICKLE JOURNAL

I was talking to the Pickle Mom yesterday hinting that she should put out more caches for me to find.  Her reply was that I could put one out for her to find instead.  So here it is.  Of course I had to do it in my own style.  So it is a puzzle cache.

Well at least it started out as a puzzle, but the distance from the starting point to the final is too far. So now it is a Multi. But everything else is the same. So have fun.

It is located along the Discovery Trail in Long Beach.  I started at the Seaview Beach Approach and went North to the end of the trail.  It is about a 4 mile trip one way.  I rode my bike.  But there are a variety of ways to get the answers.  I’ll let everyone decide which way they want to do it.  That’ll make it more fun.

On to the puzzle.

Along the Discovery Trail you will find a series of informational signs about Lewis and Clark (I found 6 of them).  You need to collect some numbers off of each one and do a small amount of math.  This will lead you to discover the location of the cache.  Have fun.

A= How far could Clark see from the high point “Through Ruged Country”  Add the numbers together.

B= How many Brants did the party kill of the “Great Numbers of Wild Fowls”?  Use this number.

C= In “The Deer of this Coast” find out how many deer or elk the party needed per day to eat.  Add together and then add amount of meat consumed per person per day.  Divide this by 2.  (Deer+Elk+Meat/2=C).

D= How many days since the party arrived at the ocean in “Cant say Pasific”  Add the digits together.

E= What Month is on the Calendar in “The Chinook Nation”.  Subtract two months and convert to a number.

F= What the degrees are used in the directions given in “Proceeded on Sandy Coast”.  Use the last digit.

The final is at N 46 22.ABC   W 124 03.DEF

Sum check for ABC is 13 and Sum check for DEF is 15.

The cache is a small lock’n’lock with cammo tape.  There is a Lincoln for the FTF.  But sorry no SWAG.

Contrats to geomomrockz for FTF on my first Washington Cache.
