Seržu tīrelis ir aizaudzis augstā tipa purvs, dabas liegums Vecumnieku novada Valles pagastā. Liegums dibināts 1977.gadā ar platību 151ha un ir nozīmīga vieta purvainu mežu aizsardzībai, prioritārs Eiropas nozīmes biotops.
Teritorijā sastopamas īpaši aizsargājamo augu sugas - stāvlapu dzegužpirkstīte un plankumainā dzegužpirkstīte.
2003.gadā ornitologs Māris Strazds Seržu tīrelī apzināja vecāko koku Latvijā - 470 gadus vecu priedi. Ņemot vērā purvaino augsni, ierasta dižkoka izmērus priede nav sasniegusi - šī koka apkārtmērs ir 117 centimetri un augstums - 16 metri (salīdzinājumam, iepriekšējās par vecāko koku Latvijā uzskatītās, 370 gadus senās Zauskas priedes apkārtmērs sasniedz 4.63 metrus).
Atsaucoties uz Dabas aizsardzības pārvaldes mājas lapā izplatīto informāciju tīrelī un tā apkārtnē ligzdo vairākas aizsargājamas (ES Putnu direktīvas) putnu sugas - melnais stārķis, bikšainais apodziņš, melnā dzilna un zivju ērglis.
Bet, visticamāk, sastapsiet ierastākus purva augus un iemītniekus - tīrelis čum un mudž no dzīvības pat ziemā. Slēpņa izlikšanas ekspedīcijā pavisam netālu redzējām divus aļņus, atradām vairākas āpšu alas, mazliet ziemeļos uz Rudupītes neskaitāmus dambjus sacēluši bebri .. purvā sasalušas dzērvenes, ķērpji, smaržo vaivariņi. Dodoties pēc slēpņa, turiet acis un ausis vaļā, izmetiet līkumu pa mežu, aizstaigājiet līdz applūdušajiem Iecavas krastiem .. un varbūt jums paveiksies redzēt pat melno stārķi.
Šī slēpņa mērķis ir parādīt jaunu, brīnišķīgu un līdz šim mazāk zināmu Latvijas vietu. Slēpnis ir neliela, apaļa, lock-lock veida kastīte. Satur zīmulīti, bet drošāk paķeriet līdzi savu rakstāmo. Ziemā, kad viss sasalis, un vasarā, kad silts, piekļuvei nevajadzētu būt ļoti sarežģītai. Bet cerams, ka arī pārējā laikā viss ir izejams. Lūgums no ģeokolēģiem – dabas draugiem – pēc iespējams neapmeklēt slēpni pavasarī un vasaras sākumā, lai netraucētu tīrelī un tā apkārtnē ligzdojošās putnu sugas.
Ļoti liels lūgums saglabāt tīreli tik pat skaistu un neskartu kā līdz šim un neatstāt purvā atkritumus.

Seržu Bog is an overgrown, raised bog, a nature reserve in Vecumnieku County, Valle Parish. The reserve was established in 1977, it covers an area of 151ha, and it is a biotope of a European importance for protecting wet forests.
In the territory you can find specially protected plant species – the early Marsh-orchid and the Spotted-orchid.
In 2003, a Latvian ornithologist Māris Strazds here identified the oldest tree in Latvia – a 470 year old pine. Given the marshy soil, the pine has a circumference of 117 centimeters and a height of 16 meters, which is much less than commonly expected from a pine of such an age. In comparison, the circumference of the second oldest pine reaches 4.63 meters.
According to the information published by the Nature Conservation Agency, in the bog you can find several by EU Birds Directive protected bird species - the Black Stork, Boreal (Tengmalm's) Owl, Black Woodpecker and Osprey.
However, most likely you will discover the common plants and inhabitants of a raised bog. The bog is full of life even in winter. While placing the cache, we saw two elks nearby, found several badger holes and a little further north on Rudupīte beavers have created numerous dams .. frozen cranberries and the smell of the Marsh Labrador tea. Keep your eyes and ears open, while going for the cache – explore the forest, walk till the river Iecava.. and, if you’re very lucky, you might even spot the Black Stork.
The main aim of the cache is to show a new, wonderful and less known territory in Latvia. The cache is a small, round, lock-lock type box. It contains a pencil, but in case take your own pen/pencil along as well. The walk to the cache should be rather easy in winter, when the bog is frozen, or in warm summer days, but the cache should be accessible all year. A request from our geocolleagues, nature friends – please try do not visit the cache in spring and early summer in order not to disturb the nesting birds in the bog.
