This cache has been archived.

plsellers: Even tho located on ROW, there is a new home being built right in the area. Presently there is a game camera right near the walking zone aimed at their new construction but will catch your picture when hunting. I have retrieved the container for the present.

Geocache Description:

This will be a series of 9 groups, each have 3 parts for a total of 27 caching hides.  The Title of the series is Lessons in Color.

In developing this Series, I was prompted to actually research what do the colors really mean. I have always like etymology, but more than that, I like the phrases, idioms and expressions that really have their roots from something more than just commonplace current day usage.

You will be looking for a 4 oz. pill bottle

This is not intended to actually be complete by any means since most words have meanings rooted deep in history that may have changed through the years and also crosses cultures in their meanings.….this has been just a method for developing a new hiding series for our area (that will be a little unusual).

I, the CO, am the lecturer and the leader of this field trip down Highway 63 in Union County.  The family PEZ has agreed to provide my students for this adventure.  At the end of each group will be my party planner to provide the final color connection who may provide treats or favors to take home or just to take it easy.

There will be some differences but also sameness.  The camo and visibility will be different and finding should be very easy so just enjoy the idea.

So, here we go……………By the way----at the bottom will be other information you might be interested in.

BEIGE is a very pale brown color, variously described as a pale sandy fawn color, a grayish tan, a light-grayish yellowish brown or a pale to grayish yellow.  It takes its name from the French word for the color of natural wool.  It has come to be used for a range of light tints chosen for their neutral or pale warm appearance.

In the 20s, the meaning of the term BEIGE expanded to the point where it is now also used not only for pale yellowish-brown colors, but also for a wide range of pale brown and light brown shades as well.

BEIGE is very difficult to produce in traditional offset printing due to the low levels of inks used on each plate and will often print with a purplish or greenish tint and even vary within a print run.

BEIGE is often employed as a metaphor for dullness, neutrality or conformity.  In Sci-Fi circles, inhabitants of a Neutral Plant will declare a “BEIGE alert” when under threat.  Also, when discussing playing Al Gore on the David Letterman, a comment was made….”How do you spruce up BEIGE?”

In business, there is a BEIGE Book published by the Federal Reserve Board.  How interesting can that be?

In the computer world, BEIGE tones have so often been used for personal computer cases and peripherals that the term BEIGE box has come to mean an ordinary, run-of-the mill, generic, unremarkable personal computer.  Well, next time, I think I will buy RED.

The skin color of lighter-skinned Caucasians is often described as being BEIGE.  There was the BEIGE ROOM in San Francisco where the drag culture flourished.  There are a few sports teams that have BEIGE as their club color.

There are several shades of BEIGE:

Cream (the color of cream produced by cattle grazing on natural pasture with plants rich in yellow pigments)

Cosmic latte (average color of the universe)Desert Sand (regarded as a deep shade of BEIGE); it is a pale tint of a color called Desert.

Buff (after buffed leather)

Mode BEIGE - taking the color “drab”, a color whose name had become a synonym for dullness and remaking it into a more exciting and fun color.

There is Tuscan, Ecru, Khaki, Light French BEIGE, French BEIGE, Unbleached silk

Needless to say, from just the above entries, BEIGE doesn’t have quite the exciting history as more flamboyant colors.

SOME AREAS WILL HAVE RECOGNIZABLE PULL-OFFS.  MOST DO NOT. HOWEVER, THE SHOULDERS ARE WIDE AND SOLID

CACHES IN THE LECTURES WILL MOSTLY BE HANGING BUT NOT ALL

CACHES IN THE STUDENT SECTIONS WILL ALL BE HANGING

CACHES IN THE FINAL COLOR CONNECTION WILL MOSTLY BE LOW, BUT NOT ALL

THERE WILL NOT BE TOO MANY HINTS IN THE ENTIRE 27 CACHES OF THE SERIES.  COLOR WILL MOSTLY SAY IT ALL.

Congrats to arkfiremedic for FTF.
