Alguns aspetos da Geologia do local
Esta cache encontra-se sobre uma espécie de "crista" bastante fina, situada na Meia Légua mas que se prolonga até ao Espigão. É provável que esta crista tenha surgido a partir da intrusão de uma coluna da material vulcânico - chamado Filão - por entre o material menos duro - de origem piroclástica - que já haveria sido expelido numa fase explosiva do vulcão. A partir daí, ao longo de milhares de anos, os efeitos da meteorização e erosão - ou seja, alterações físicas e químicas sobre a superfície das rochas à superfície da Terra provocadas por agentes da geodinânica externa - terão erodido o material piroclástico, deixando cada vez mais descoberto este grande Filão.

Junto ao GZ, já em cima da crista, é possível observar uma grande quantidade de líquenes a cobrir as rochas, sendo o mais abundante o Lecanora cf. muralis lichen, cuja principal caraterística é a dificuldade na remoção do local onde estão presos. Os líquenes são seres vivos muito simples que constituem uma simbiose de um organismo formado por um fungo e uma alga. Os fungos que formam liquenes são geralmente os ascomicetos. Quanto às algas, estas geralmente são as clorofíceas e cianobactérias.
A cache
Esta cache, como já foi referido anteriormente, situa-se numa "crista" bastante fina, pelo que, em determinadas zonas da mesma, a distancia entre as duas extremidades pode ser inferior a 2 metros, e em ambos os lados segue-se uma grande escarpa de aproximadamente 50 metros de altura. Não é necessário qualquer material de escalada, apenas uma roupa confortável, um bom calçado e o mais importante: não ter vertígens, ter equilíbrio e coragem. Se não se sente 100% confiante NÃO FAÇA ESTA CACHE! O percurso até ao GZ e o próprio GZ em si são locais extremamente arriscados, um passo em falso pode significar o pior! Leia os logs de pessoas que já lá foram para saber o que esperar! É de referir ainda que para alcançar a crista será necessário subir algumas escadas desde o parking até ao GZ. Por favor, deixe o container do mesmo modo que o encontrou. É extremamente perigoso fazer esta cache à noite! TENHAM MUITO CUIDADO

Some aspects of the geology at the GZ
This cache is on a sort of a "crest" which is very thin, located in Meia Légua but extends up to Espigao. It is likely that this crest has arisen from the intrusion of a column of volcanic material - called Lode - through the less hard material - pyroclastic material - it would have been expelled in an explosive phase of the volcano. From there, through thousands of years, the effects of weathering and erosion - ie, physical and chemical changes on the surface of rocks on Earth's surface caused by external geodynamics agents - have eroded the pyroclastic material, leaving this Lode gradually more discovered.
Some aspects of the biology at the GZ
Over the crest you can see a lot of lichens covering the rocks, but the ones that exists the most in the GZ are Lecanora cf. muralis lichen, whose main characteristic is the difficulty in removing it from where it's stuck. Lichens are very simple creatures which are a symbiosis of an organism consisting of a fungus and an alga. The fungus that form lichens are usually ascomycetes. As for the algae, they are usually Chlorophyceae and cyanobacteria.
The cache
This cache, as mentioned earlier is located in a very thin "crest" and in certain areas the distance between two edges can be less than 2 meters, and on both sides there is a large scarp of approximately 50 meters tall. No needing for special climbing gear, the only thing that is needed are some comfortable clothes, good footwear and most importantly it's needed not to have vertigo, have balance and courage. If you do not feel 100% confident DO NOT TRY TO FIND THIS CACHE! The route to GZ and GZ itself are extremely risky places, one misstep can mean the worst! Read the logs of people who have been there to know what to expect! It should also be noted that to achieve the GZ you must climb a few stairs from starting in the parking. Please leave the container in the same way you found it. It is extremely dangerous to do this cache at night! BE VERY CAREFUL!
