This cache is a small-sized traditional container housed outside of the library. As always, watch out for Muggles. If the library is open, stop in to see all the books and videos we have on geocaching, traveling, hiking, camping, and other adventure activities. This cache has received proper tribal government approval.
The Kayenta Community Library is one of the newest in Navajo County having just opened in its new location in a small trailer donated by Navajo County Government in 2012, Arizona's Centennial Year. This library is the northernmost library in the county, being almost to the Utah border and the only township library on the Navajo Nation. The Kayenta Community Library has a broad service area with a large population since the nearest library to it is over 135 miles away in Window Rock, AZ.
The Kayenta Post Office is very near so plan on bringing the postcards you bought of Monument Valley and the surrounding area.
This cache is one in a series of caches placed by the Navajo County Library District located in Holbrook, Arizona. These caches are supported with funds granted to Navajo County Library District by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records Agency under the Library Services and Technology Act, which is administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
