Holy Angels, Hoar Cross

Church History
Holy Angels is regarded as one of the finest churches in Staffordshire. John Betjamin described the church as "the masterpiece of its late Victorian architect G.F. Bodley"
It was built by the pious Anglo-Catholic Emily Charlotte Meynell Ingram in memory of her husband Hugo Francis who died in May 1871. The architects were George Frederick Bodley and Thomas Garner. Work started in 1872 and the church dedication took place in 1876. Further extension and additions took place until the church achieved its present form in 1906.
Church Micro Series
I have enjoyed a number of caches in this series in other parts of the country and was disappointed that Staffordshire had hardly any such caches. Hopefully the caches that we place will encourage other Staffordshire-based CO's to contribute to the world's largest series. If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
