Geocache Description:

Walking The Dog: Where's The Foliage? - one of a series of caches
placed with the four-pawed assistance of JC Cache Dawg.

The remnants of the tree at GZ is a result of the tornado that struck Kaharoa / Hamurana on Thursday 6th December 2012. It illustrates what a 'twister' really does - the upright spike clearly shows where the upper part of the tree was twisted off. The top portion of the tree was dropped on the track beside it - fortunately no-one was hurt.
*** Container cannot hold anything apart from the included log sheet. ***
Please bring a pen for the Waterproof paper log. A pencil will not work.

This is a replacement cache for the archived WTD: Living Legends cache, which was removed by me, due to lack of care and attention by cachers when replacing the container, which was unique, but now just wrecked.
Living Legends - Bringing the field to the forest
This forest was planted during Rugby World Cup 2011
and is dedicated to New Zealand Rugby legend Hika Reid.
