Stoke Managers - Lou Macari Traditional Cache

A series of caches placed around Trentham to celebrate the managers, good and bad, of Stoke City Football Club.

A variety of caches have been placed, some harder to find than others, I hope you enjoy finding them all. I have lived in Trentham all my life and I hope you enjoy my little trail I have laid out for you, hopefully your geocaching adventures will take you on a nice little walk around Trentham.

In 2 spells at Stoke, Lou Macari is one of your most popular ever managers. After missing out on premotion in the play offs in his first season, the second season in charge saw Stoke win the 2nd Divison Title (one of my fav ever seasons). Amassing a massive 93pts and going on a club record 25 match unbeaten run. The 91-92 season saw Stoke win the Football League Trophy in front of 48 339 thanks to a 65min goal from the mighty Mark Stein.

After leaving Stoke to manage his beloved Celtic he returned a year later. His second spell at the club never really matched up to the first and at the end of the 1996-97 season it was announced he was leaving. Lou Macari still lives less than 1 mile from this cache.
