Welcome to Ukiah Oregon, home of approx. 230 people.
Ukiah is said to once have been a lake and that a "loud rumbling, many many moons ago" occured making the whole lake disappear leaving the valley floor that we know as Camas Prairie today. There was a huge battle over this land long ago between the Natives and the "white" men and many memorials of the battle can be seen at Battle Mountain state park and in Albee.
The post office was established on September 22 1890 and E.B. Gambee named the town after his own hometown Ukiah, California.
Ukiah is a awesome resting point when out enjoying the many mountainous recreational activities that we offer in this area. Hunting is good and snowmobiling is great, we offer ATV trails everywhere around the town as well as many popular lakes and the once so popular Lehman Hot Springs (closed until further notice)
