Chapin's Rapido River Crossing Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

AFBlue-Thunder: The cache has had a good run but appears to have been taken/is no longer there. I am no longer in the area so have no need to replace at this time. If you happen to be in the area please take a moment to visit Aggie Memorial Tower where there is a picture of Capt John L. Chapin and to honor those that the tower stands for, or visit the Fallen Aggies Plaque that is located on the pillar outside of Young Hall.

Log only cache. Bring tweezers!

The Fallen Agggie Board commemorates those who attended NMSU and lost their lives in war. Captain John L. Chapin is a fallen Aggie from El Pas, TX. Many know the name Chapin because of Chapin High School (named after Captain John L. Chapin).

The Fallen Aggie Board is located on a single pillar/column outside of Young Hall at NMSU. Young Hall is home to AFROTC Detachment 505 and AROTC Bataan Battalion. Most of the names on this plaque also have photos in the nearby Memorial Tower. Stop by and visit this room in the HSS building if they are open.

A flashlight is recommended when hunting this cache at night. Extreme stealth should be used during the day as there are students and staff members constantly utilizing the path/area. Best time to find this cache would be at night after business hours, but be weary of any stray staff members staying to work late.

Small blue bison tube placed in a hole in the wall.Log Only.
