Geocache Description:

Welcome to the REM Loop, for a full description please refer to cache number 1. The loop comprises of 33 caches of varying shapes and sizes, some with a little twist.

Green… A possibly unconventional choice for my favourite REM album, but it never fails to impress me. The sound was in many places harder than the more instantly accessible Document and those harder riffs juxtaposed with the softer ballads where Peter Buck first really cut loose with his Mandolin, make for an album that is for some unexplainable reason, very personal to me (That is the beauty of great music I suppose.) Towering in the midst of this great work, is ‘Turn You Inside Out’ which starts with a menacing guitar riff before quite the most huge drum sound that has the capacity to pick me up from my very toes to the point of feverish, demented euphoria. If ever I am feeling tired on the road late at night, instead of the more traditional remedies of pulling into a service station for a coffee, or 40 winks in a lay-by, I simply put on this song and soon I am pounding the steering wheel with the wild excitement of a Tasmanian Devil on steroids. Nothing in music makes me feel more alive.. With the possible exception of Chiquitita by Abba… Matt Jones
