Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in the winter along a snowmobile trail. It is our hope that spring will find it not too wet and poison ivy free. We created this as a roughly one mile loop. By parking at Dysarts at the corner of Griffin and Broadway, cachers wishing to do the loop should start with Aran. Suggested order would be Aran, Chimay, Callanish, Skye, Roma, Mdina, and Malta.
NOTE: please bring your own pen or pencil.

Aran: The Aran Islands, off the coast of Ireland, are an adventure. Getting there involved a mailboat where the captain and his mate spoke Gaelic to each other the whole choppy trip. We visited two of the islands, Inisheer (the smallest of the three) and Inishmore (the largest of the three). If you are looking for a peek into traditional Irish culture, this is the place to go. Stonewalls, small villages, Irish knit crafts, and plenty of pints of the black stuff. Can’t wait to go back! We were not cachers when last there. Dun Eochla View (GCHEQ5) has been added to the list.
We have named our cats after places we’ve been and fallen in love with. No surprise that our golden girl is named Aran. Aran is a Humane Society find. She and her two sisters were brought into the little visitor’s room and she charmed her way right out the door.
