Everybody loves 'Electrolite' and if they don't they bloody well should. It bounces along with simply joyous and nostalgic abandon and makes you happier for it's existence.
Michael Stipe however was initially reticent about including it on 'New Adventures in Hi-Fi' and had to be talked round by the other Three members of the band (It has since become One of his favourites and an ever present in concert sets for years to come.)
Rammed full of melody, it plays like the soundtrack to the best American road movie ever, evoking images of Americana and Hollywood icons as it says Goodbye to the closing 20th Century.
To quote Phil Daniels in 'Parklife'... "There will always be a bit of my heart devoted to it."
