Geocache Description:

Not a difficult cache. Just wanted to put out a memorial cache out for our sweet girl Pumbaa who died in July of 2013. She loved to come with me to pick up our kids from the nearby school. We would leave a little early and take a walk thru these trails. There is a long way and a shorter way to access this cache. The choice is yours.

The meaning of our caching name, Star54Fun, stands for; Star (our last name is Starnes) 5 (there were 5 of us, four people and Pumbaa) 4 Fun (what geocaching is to us) Pumbaa was with us for most of our first 3500 geocaches. Everyone who knew Pumbaa knew her as a gentle soul. She was loyal, loving, playful and cuddly. She was spoiled but not rotten. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body. She loved going for walks and was in her element when we were out geocaching and walking the trails. She loved going to school to pick up her girls. She loved car rides in general as it usually meant going somewhere fun. She loved lazy days sprawled out on the couch as we sat on either end, careful not to disturb her. She loved night-time cuddles up on the bed, until it got too hot for her to bear and she would leave us for the comfort of her own bed on the floor. She loved to chase sticks, but she would chew them up instead of return them. She loved stinky things, dead and rotting things especially. She would roll in it like the stench was pure ecstasy to her senses. But the thing she loved most was her family... She let us know it every chance she could. And in return, she was loved by her family so deeply and missed even more. Her passing has stole a piece of our hearts and she will never be forgotten. This cache is in memory of our Pumbaa. Love your fur-baby and hug them often. They are taken from us all too soon. A friend sent this to me and I would like to share it with you; Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like: When loved ones come home, always run to greet them. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy. Take naps. Stretch before rising. Run, romp, and play daily. Thrive on attention and let people touch you. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk. Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently. Please remember to trade fairly, so there is something for all the dog’s that visit this cache. Swag in this large AMMO CAN includes, balls, dog toys, pet wipes, collars etc. A friend made us a wonderful tribute TB that they put out in memory of Pumbaa. It is called ‘To Pumbaa with Love’. We are looking forward to watching this travel and seeing all the cachers pics with their Geo-pups.
