Hometown Hide - School Days Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Twinklekitkat: It's been a good run but unfortunately I feel the need to archive this one. Third time will probably not be a charm. Thanks to all who found it and hope you learned a little bit of Fleetwood's history while searching for this cache.

Geocache Description:

This building was the first secondary education school in the borough of Fleetwood. In 1877 a four room schoolhouse was erected here for $6,000 and housed the secondary, intermediate and high school grades. In 1908 a four room addition was added to the front of the schoolhouse. It was added on to again in 1923 and 1956. The four room schoolhouse is still here, minus the belfry, if you look closely.  It is the part of the building with the peaked roof.

This is where my mother completed high school and where my siblings & I completed middle school. The school is now the community center for the borough.  The library is here as well as borough hall, the local district justice office and the historical society of Fleetwood.  Because this is the hub of the community stealth may be required during business hours.

I hope you will take a few minutes to enjoy the history of the site and if the building is open, go in and check it out.

Please note these coordinates may be off a bit. Maybe 20 feet or so. I took a reading a bunch of times and this was the best I could get. It is at the building. The hint is a spoiler for sure if you can't find it.

Congratulations GreenbayChis & AllWeatherCachers on a shared FTF!
