Geocache Description:

I enjoy following trails, collecting the caches as I go, so I thought it was time to give something back. Here it is, a nice little wander of about 4.5 miles around Woodbury Common with some picturesque scenery on the way around.

There are 20 caches in this series, numbered 1 to 20. They are all on or just off the footpaths and bridleways as you walk along. There are no gates or styles and there are no caches on the roads. All cache are set to be found and there are a variety of containers and hides. Some have easy clues and some have more cryptic clues. The ground can be muddy in wet weather. There are two parking areas. Caches can be done in any order.

The caches are placed on the East Devon Pebblebeds. The beds are designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Area of Conservation and a Special Protection Area, the area represents one of the most important conservation sites in Europe. They are home to a large variety of flora and fauna. Dartford warblers and Nightjars nest here. Butterflies and dragonflies can also be seen. More information about the beds may be found at www.pebblebedheaths.org.uk

Please respect the countryside by not causing damage. Leave the area as you found it. Rehide caches as you found then. The area is extensively used by dog walkers so take care when searching.

My grateful thanks go to the both Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust, who manage the land and Clinton Devon Estates, who own the land, for allowing me to place these caches.

CAUTION

They are currently thinning the trees in the wooded areas. This means there are stacks of timber at various locations around the walk. Please KEEP OFF. There is no need to go near them.
