Geocache Description:

A short off-set multi achievable within 10 minutes walk of Stone Methodist Chapel. The published co-ordinates are for street parking near the chapel.

Stone Methodist Chapel, previously known as Stone Wesleyan Chapel was built in 1877, and was enlarged in 1912.

The village name of Stone is Anglo Saxon, meaning boundary or marker stone. In the Domesday Book of 1086, the village was recorded as Stanes.

At the published coordinates, there are three stone tablets to the left of the chapel entrance. Convert the letters of the middle tablet to numbers using the method: A=1, B=2, Z=26, etc. Omit the leading digit for double digit numbers. Then add all the numbers up to give you 2 digits. We will call the first digit A, and the second one B.

The cache will be found at N51° 48.(B-1)0(B+1) W000°52. (B-A)(B+2)(A+3). The total co-ordinates add up to 54.

geocaching.com states under 'Help Center' in Paragraph 1.7. Geocaching etiquette: 'We like to keep things fun for everyone, so we have a few rules we encourage everyone to follow. Sign both the logbook and log your find online to get your smiley. Geocache owners love reading about your experience'. There are more rules, but this is the first one. This cache owner requests that if on the rare occasion geocachers are unable to sign, an explanation is given in their log. A photo of the cache, if possible should then be sent through the messaging system.
