Just Another Walk In The Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LeewayeDiscGolf: Gwen;), nite_raven, and I checked on this one after Gwen;)'s dentist appointment. All we could find of the cache was a strip of camo tape. Someone has destroyed the bottom 15 feet of the tree. Bark was ripped off and every branch from the cache down is broken or ripped off the tree. Some of the hand holds needed to reach the cache safely are gone as well as the area the cache was hidden in. This type of destruction should never happen and I'm very disappointed that it has. We are archiving the cache today, our first time losing a cache. Thank you to those who took the time to find it. We hope you enjoyed learning about the park and enjoyed a different type of hide than the usual. For those that are curious, the cache was up the tree and had to be climbed for.

J.J. Raigoza Park. The park was named in his honor for his numerous contributions to Pueblo. He was 6 feet 2 inches tall and 320 pounds. A Pueblo native and 1965 graduate of Central High School, Raigoza graduated from the University of Southern Colorado and served six years in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam and Guam. He became involved in everything, from neighborhood healthcare programs to the Colorado Advisory Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. He also worked as a guard in the forensics unit at the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo, for the district attorney, and at Spanish Peaks Mental Health Center. Among dozens of accomplishments his proudest was his role in the development of the Bessemer Ditch Rehabilitation Bill which was signed into law July 9, 1982, by then-President Jimmy Carter. Raigoza had discovered the widespread flooding of basements in the Bessemer Ditch area and worked tirelessly to see the bill passed. Johnny Jesus `JJ' Raigoza died at age 49 following a two-month illness. His funeral included full military honors. FTF! - Cx4 ( in the dark and snow with no writing utensil ) *PLEASE do not include any pictures or spoilers of the actual hide location in your log. Always remember the next cacher wants to enjoy the cache as much as you did and they will find it in whatever condition you leave it in. As always be aware of your surroundings while caching, practice CITO, and always have fun. *If leaving/taking/or discovering TBs ALWAYS log them as soon as possible. They do not belong to you and do have owners intent on watching their progress. Please do your part in either helping the TBs along their journey or ensuring they are left safely for the next cacher to enjoy.
