This cache is another in the Birds Of Texas Series placed by one of the "3 Bird Brains".
My birds are some found in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas where I lived for many years.
I can still remember the first time I saw the green parrot. I was driving on North 10 (major north to south street in McAllen, Tx) and saw a green cloud pass overhead. It was a large flock of wild green parrots that reside near and around Bill Schuppe Park. They like to congregate on the wires above that busy street and seem to enjoy watching the effect they have on traffic.
I also remember looking for a cache in a park near the old Austin airport and hearing that distinctive "parrot" sound that took me back to the Valley. I looked around the area and swore I saw a green parrot sitting in a tree. When I asked a local if I might be mistaken or hallucinating, they assured me that I had indeed seen one as there was a small flock in the immediate area. Imagine that!
