Located on the summit ridge of the Konini Saddle track in the Eastern Haywards Reserve, Waiwhetu. The walk to the cache is approx 40 min from the Te Whiti park entrance up the fire break and is a moderately challenging climb.
There are many ways of getting to this cache. One way is to park at the top of Whites Line East and walk up the main track to the ECNZ sign post at the top of the track. Turn right and follow the Konini Saddle track to the saddle. You may prefer to access the fire break from the Wainuiomata Hill Road. This is possibly an easier walk and you can grab a few other caches along the way:
The cache a 200 ml contains a log sheet only, so please bring your own pen. There is limited no room to place anything else. The cache is about 3 m off the edge off the track, at the base of a bank, under rocks about a metre from a tree fern.
