Geocache Description:
A pleasant beach walk, and quite a few "Red Herrings". Not advisable to do this cache in the heat of the day in mid-summer.
This lovely spot is close to a clump of old trees that look like Ghosts of a bygone era. I can only guess thay have died due to lightening strike.
On a slightly boring note, this beach is frequented by fishermen, the occasional swimmer, and many people training for soccer tournaments and marathons, it is a safe beach. I have been personally frequenting this beach for nearly 10 years and have never heard of any incidents that involve safety concerns, the security at the park and the life guards are very good, go make friends with them.
There may be some litter or debris on the beach, however it is wonderful that on a regular basis the parks department send teams onto the beach to collect all the litter and debris up and remove it from the beach. All in all, this is a wonderful and rather lesser known spot in Durban that can and should be viewed with positivity.
It will also soon be lost due to the new harbour that is going to be built here.
Although many people do infact bring their dogs to this beach, and dogs have never been stopped, the signs do say no dogs allowed, you decide if you wish to take your pets with you.
