Parco Villa Genero - L'ingresso

Il trail vi guiderà all'interno di questo sconosciuto parco cittadino, in stato di semi-abbandono, che lo classificano ad essere quasi un lost place.
Il parco è aperto tutti i giorni con orario 08.00-19.00.
Il Parco di Villa Genero fu donato nel 1888 al Comune di Torino dalla vedova del cavaliere Felice Genero, banchiere e deputato, in memoria del marito. E’ un parco bellissimo, costituito da viali e vialetti che si sovrappongono fino ad arrivare ad una balconata che offre un panorama unico sulle Alpi, sulla Mole e sui più importanti monumenti della città e costituisce un prezioso polmone verde facilmente accessibile nella prima collina torinese. Lo spazio possiede ben 39.000 mq. di terreno e innumerevoli varietà di alberi come cedri, sequoie, abeti, betulle ed altro. Inoltre, essendo confinante con la Villa della Regina, è oggi oggetto di frequenti visite da parte di turisti italiani e stranieri.
Attualmente il Parco e le sue pertinenze sono in una situazione di grave abbandono e di incuria associati ad atti vandalici e furti come la mutilazione delle due statue di cemento che introducevano il viale dei Giusti, la rimozione dei resti di una fontana che rappresentava un leone, la scomparsa di una statua di Mercurio sopra un obelisco di 6/7 metri, la scomparsa dal cortile davanti al tempietto sulla sommità del Parco di due sfingi e della fontana di acqua potabile. In più, salendo verso la sommità del Parco dal viale principale o dai vialetti secondari e scorciatoie, si arriva ad un tempietto di particolare architettura in stato di degrado, con entrate murate, pieno di scritte, invaso dalla vegetazione e con cartelli che avvisano il pubblico di non avvicinarsi per il pericolo di crolli.
Il cache contiene il logbook e una matita. Per preservare il più a lungo possibile il cache, rimettere a posto il contenitore esattamente nella posizione iniziale.
Il logbook contiene il primo indizio (A) per arrivare al final.
