Gator Calls Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

KPFound: Difficult to maintain and the stages, especially the GZ are difficult to access during the raining season. Last nights thunderstorm reminded me of this. It was fun.

Geocache Description:

Owahee Trail is located within the Grassy Waters Preserve.

Grassy Waters Preserve is a 23 square mile wetlands ecosystem that serves as the freshwater supply for the City of West Palm Beach and the towns of South Palm Beach and Palm Beach Island. Historically, Grassy Waters was both a key component of the Greater Everglades watershed and the headwaters of the Northwest Fork of the Loxahatchee River.

Parking is located on the west side of Jog Road, one mile north of Okeechobee Blvd.

Alligators have a sound communication known as bellowing. It is used as a means of locating each other in times of courtship. One must remember that crocodilians are not very tall and their swampy habitat is filled with tall vegetation, and the gators cannot see each other. Baby gators bark or grunt; adults hiss and bellow.

While I was hiding this series the calls of the baby gators could be heard all along this trail.  For me, it is a relaxing chorus and makes the trail that much more fun to explore.

Pay close attention to each of the cache containers that you locate, inside all of the small containers is a clue you will need to make a note of.  The second to last container you find will make it obvious as to why you need to make a note of these clues.  If you are missing a clue, maybe you start with a star.
