Welcome to Prospect Park - Hudson's first city park!
In response to a petition of citizens, the Hudson city council purchased the present Prospect Park property on October 18th, 1885 making it the first Hudson city park. A very quiet little park to stop in for family picnics & views of the river.
Prospect Park is perched high atop a bluff overlooking the city. It offers some of the best views in Hudson of the city and the scenic St. Croix River; you can see Stillwater, Minn., more than 6 miles away. In addition, Prospect Park offers a picnic area, a pavilion with a fireplace, a sand volleyball court, benches, grassy areas and playground equipment. There is also a series of trails that run from Third Street up the side of the bluff to the vantage point.
Park Hours: Summer: April 16 - Nov. 14, 6am - 10pm; Winter: Nov. 15 - April 15, 6am - 6pm
Use parking and trailhead coordinates posted below for best access. And, make sure you walk up to the overlook area to take in the wonderful view of the city and surrounding area. Cache is regular in size and should be accessible during all of our varied seasons.
This hiding spot is very near the location of one of the first caches hidden in Hudson in 2002 (by tricolor - now archived). That cache brought me to this wonderful spot that I may have otherwise overlooked.
