Geocache Description:

Rumored to be the ruins of a mental institution, these grounds were actually the location of a nursing home.  Abandoned now, the area is more like a post-apocalyptic dead zone & a great place for a cache.

The nursing home that used to stand here was called The Elysium, making it ironic that it has been abandoned and even more so that it has become a field.  Greek myth places the Elysian Fields in the afterlife, but here it sits in Boca Raton, neglected and nearly forgotten.  Could this be the final resting place for the brave heroes of ancient Greece?  I don’t know, but I do know that a cache is resting somewhere beneath the stones, waiting to be unearthed by a righteous and valiant adventurer.

Cache is a medium sized plastic container with a locking lid, painted for camouflage.  Small notepad inside for a log and some interesting swag.  To round out this urban expedition, check out the graffiti art in the athletic building that’s still standing just northwest of the cache. [Edit: All walls have been knocked down, but cache remains as placed]
