Animas and Berg Parks form a single city park along the Animas River. Trails accommodate pedestrians, bicyclists and equestrians and offer year-round interest for the avid nature lover or the casual walker.
The cache is located at a historic crossing point on the Animas River. Before bridges for vehicles or pedestrians, flat bottomed ferry boats were used to transport wagons cross the Animas River. The ferry was tethered to both sides of the river with a cable that was tied to a large tree on each bank. You’ll see a tree stump and cable remnants next to the cache location. Cache is a log only. Bring your own pen or pencil. There are plenty of muggles around, depending on the time of day.
