While looking for the perfect place to put a large cache, we found this almost-hidden path leading down beside the river.
Follow Kaiate Falls Rd until you cross the bridge and see the Kaiate Falls Reserve sign. There is room to park safely near the intersection (see parking waypoint).
Follow the path down from the roadside. This part of the river is above the main waterfalls but has some smaller falls of it’s own. Please note the path can be slippery when wet so come prepared with good footwear.
We have done our best to provide accurate co-ords but you may find it difficult to locate GZ due to the tree cover (see the hint). There is no need to do any bush-bashing as the cache is hidden only a step or two off the path - please respect the environment.
The original cache container was a camoed 7L sistema with separate smaller containers inside for the log book and swaps/trackables. Unfortunately this has all gone missing over time and was replaced by a 2L camoed sistema in January 2022 (thanks Geckoh!) There is still plenty of room for swaps and TB’s.
There is a picnic table and toilet facility at the nearby carpark (follow the Kaiate Falls Reserve sign). Please lock your car and take any valuables with you as break-ins can occur here. Finding this cache after dark is NOT recommended.
