This cache has been archived.

StridentUK: I like the location but it doesn't seem worth putting out a fourth container. Thanks to everyone who has visited the cache in the past.

Geocache Description:

This is a basic cache placed alongside the Shropshire Union Canal at Newton-By-Tattenhall, close to the Grade II listed Dutton's Bridge (No. 112).

Dutton's Bridge is an unaltered brick-built accommodation bridge constructed for the Chester Canal Company in 1779.

You are looking for a small lock and lock box in a camo bag placed a suitable distance away from the bridge.

The cache is not near the edge of the canal but, as always around deep water, care should be taken when caching with geo-kids or dogs.

Please note that the towpath and footpaths leading to the canal get very muddy at times, especially during the winter months, so wellies or other suitable waterproof footwear are highly recommended.

Excellent caching experiences can be had in either direction from this part of the canal. The superb Bishop Bennet Way series lies to the east and Curse of the FTF (Cheshire) #6 and caches from snigsnig's Nooky Trail series lie to the west.

Congratulations to The Molecachers on being First to Find!
