Hidden Places in DFW #2 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

West Texas Reviewer: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so the cache is being archived to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 15 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the West Texas Reviewer.

Geocache Description:

J.O. Schulze and Otis Brown, surveyors with the Chicago, Rock Island & Gulf Railway, founded Irving in December 1903 along the railroad tracks and the old Birdville trail. Because Schulze and Brown expected that Main Street would be the center of the town's business activity, they made the street 100 feet wide, considerably wider than the town's other streets. Main Street ran south, perpendicular to the railroad depot, for about three blocks.

This cache is hidden near the clock tower that is erected to commemorate the vision of Irving's founders.

This cache contains many goodies that I have collected over the years. The initial swag included a commemorative coin from the 2003 Golden Bear Softball tournament in San Francisco, several drink token from one of my favorite San Francisco watering holes, some batting cage tokens, and a colorful lizard toy.

There was also a Geomate Jr. Travel Bug in the initial cache.

There is a pencil in the container...so don't worry about having your own.
