Geocache Description:

This is a lovely dog-walking area along the Ladies' Mile with some gorgeous views of the South Downs.

This cache was placed with kind permission from City Parks (Brighton and Hove Council).

I chose this lovely dog-walking area along the Ladies' Mile for placing our caches, because it is not only wher we walk our dog now (so we can check them regularly), but also because it is where I played as a child, climbing trees, walking my dog, making hideouts, etc. The area can get quite wet and muddy in places in the winter months, so I advise waterproof footwear even if it is not rainging for your trip.

There is space for a few cars to park at the end of Ladies' Mile Road and it is also accessible (not by wheelchair users) from the Crowhurst Industrial Estate, so it may be possible to park there.

This is a small cache containing some swappables, a logbook and some writing implements. I have two kids, so I have made all ours child-friendly with swappables to hopefully provide more family-friendly Geocaches. It is tucked behind a tree off the path, quite near to the road, but far enough away to be safe. Please return the Geocache eaxctly as you found it and watch out for muggles!

There are 6 Geocaches I have placed in this area and it would take between 1-2hours to find and log them all, depending on your fitness level, the speed you walk and the weather and ground conditions. Unfortunately, only one of the 6 caches is wheelchair accessible(if you don't mind going over a little grass). This one, however, is not, although there is a grassy path not far from this cache where you can see the site from, if you have an able-bodied person with you to help.

It is named Gus's Gold after our cat, who is called Gus(obviously!), though he'd much rather be curled up on the bed than Geocaching with us!
