Geocache Description:


Welcome to Fergzters 66th Geocache. 

At the start of this short multi you will find yourself before The Governor's Tree. This tree was planted on the occasion of His Excellency Governor Dr Davis McCaughey visiting this site. This area known for its strong ties to local government. The main walking path is lined with trees, each of which have a plaque to each serving councillor in the Ballarat area going back to the 1800's. 

Pioneer park is also hosts restablished habitat for Koalas. These works were completed in 1991 by Rotary and the Koala Foundation. 

The geocache is located a short distance away from the first WP. Due to the proximity of other geocaches in the local vicinity a geocache at the Governors tree was not possible. 

To find the geocache you must interpret the plaque at WP1.

You must find the date on which the Govenor and his wife visited this place.
