This beautiful walk along the Puyallup River levee is a favorite of ours, particularly during the months of December/January when bald eagles winter here, dining on salmon and waterfowl (they also nosh on carrion). On a good eagle day, we've counted up to twenty of these awesome raptors perched in the trees, gliding along over the river, or soaring overhead. Once endangered by the use of DDT, our national bird has made an amazing recovery.
This is my first cache hide, and I've tried to make it an easy find for newbies (I hope). You're looking for a clear water bottle. There's a $5 gift certificate to the nearby Orting Bakery (yum!) for FTF, plus some assorted trinkets.
Watch out for blackberry brambles on this trail--they can really trip you up! Also, if you can pack out a few pieces of garbage that would be awesome
Congrats to jim&jan for FTF and to rakis2 for STF!!!
