SAND CREEK SERIES: The Old Homeplace Letterbox Hybrid

This is the place where my mother grew up, although the house has long since disintegrated. I have fond memories of riding along down here to help Daddy and Grandpa feed the cows, or to go fishing at the tank or walk in the woods.

It's fine to pull up into the drive in front of the gate to park – permission has been given by property owner.

No need to cross the fence/gate for cache!

Some enigmatic black cows may come and stare at you through the gate.

In case you are not familiar with Letterboxes, the following is completely optional, but makes the letterboxing experience complete:

• Bring your own personal stamp (and stamp pad or marker)

• Bring your own letterbox journal

• Stamp your stamp in the cache log, sign and date it

• Use the stamp in the cache to stamp your journal so you will have a record of your visit

  Please Do Not remove the stamp that is in the cache! If you can, make sure the stamp pad is firmly closed, and leave it upside down within its baggie, to make sure the pad surface remains as well-inked as possible. As I understand it, many cachers carve their own stamps for letterboxes. Maybe sometime in the future I will try this. As it is, I did modify the stamp somewhat to suit myself.
