Geocache Description:

The fountains mark the land where water flows. The entrances are intertwined rectangular stone structures with a boveda shaped or flat stone slab roof; steps lead down to water during the summer and large stone slabs block the entrance to livestock. All are named and dated; most from the 18th century however some date back to Roman times. On the hilltops, between crags, becoming more hidden every day, are the springs where herdsmen and goatsmen have drunk their whole life. Since these fountains are no longer used to collect potable water, they have converted into biodiverse aquatic tanks containing up to 12 different species of plants and numerous amphibians due to its contrasting humid interior environment.
