GOLF at Cachers international golf course (CIGC)
CICG has attracted some major tournaments over the years. CICG was also a regional qualifying site
for the Open Championship.
In 2012, CICG had a unique honour bestowed upon it by the Scottish PGA. It was the only course in
Scotland to host two Order of Merit Tournaments, as the Young Professionals
Championship was held in May, followed by the CICG Masters in August.
The course measures 6,727 yards from the championship tees, but five sets of tees means that the
course can be set up to suit any level of golfer.
The course, itself, is one of two very distinctive nines. The front nine is relatively flat with a
series of burns creating an interesting test. The back nine is totally
different in character. Here, the course rises and falls with the undulating terrain.
On the highest points, Edinburgh Castle is visible on a clear day.
So, if you are planning a golfing tour of Scotland or maybe just a short golf break, CICG is

Solve the following to find the cache.
Welcome to the Cachers International Golf Course. You are about to take a virtual tour round this course. All shots are taken of the white tees.
On tee one you hit the ball 220 yards in a Northerly direction, then sliced the ball 75 yards in a westerly direction, a nice chip and a putt to make par.
The second tee, it started to rain, you hit your first shot 340 yards in a Northerly direction, very impressive. Your second shot went East, but hit a tree and rebounded 99 yards West. It took a further 3 shots to sink the ball, but somehow you still made par.
On tee 3, you hit the ball 202 yards in a Northerly direction, on a few feet from the hole; a nice easy putt will put you under par. Unfortunately a magpie landed next to you ball and pecked it 10 yards to
the West, you threw your putter towards the magpie, but it flew off and the putter hit your ball, costing you a shot. Luckily the ball didn’t move too far, and you managed to equal par.
The fourth tee, your luck might change, the rain has stopped and the sun trying to break through the clouds. Your first shot travelled 300 yards, a modest shot, but was in the rough. You searched for your ball, and was nearly hit by a fellow cachers ball coming from the opposite direction. The other cacher apoligised and continued his shot. You found a ball and hit your best shot of the day; the ball went in the hole, amazing. After you finished you under par dance, the cacher that passed you earlier gave you your ball back, you hit his ball and he hit your ball 301 yards to the West. So both shots were void and counted as a drop shot.
You gave up after that, and went to the club house, and talked to the other cachers about your bad luck.
