Geocache Description:

One part of a series of caches that are placed along the main roads from Flimwell to Tunbridge Wells and then towards the venue for the Kent Mega event in May 2014. Parking is available near all caches in the series.

Please be very careful when joining and leaving the fast moving traffic at every stage. Each cache is located pretty close to a major road, so please keep kids, pets and hapless cachers at a safe distance. Most of all... have fun and we look forward to seeing you at the main event!

This series has been set out in a collaborative effort with my caching buddy Moonstone2001 for those travelling to the Mega event from the south. We both look forward to your 'found' logs!

Don't forget to make a note of the bonus number... you'll need it later!

LANDBRIDGE
Above the roundabout you will find the UKs first Land bridge. What is it for I hear you ask? Well, apart from providing access to the nearby National Trust property of Scotney Castle from Lamberhurst, it's primary purpose is to allow wildlife safe passage from one side of the busy dual carriageway below to the other. Mice, voles and all manner of creatures use this bridge simply to cross the road. It connects populations of mammals which were effectively separated when the Lamberhurst bypass was built in 2005.

Try not too over shoot this cache on the way to the Mega. Take the 1st exit from the roundabout (travelling from cache 1) and park up in the pull in on the right-hand side of the road just beyond the GZ. If you find yourself travelling up the dual carriage way, you have taken the wrong exit and there is nowhere to safe stop. You would then need to continue up to the next roundabout a few miles ahead and then double back on yourself again... which would be annoying!

Please be very careful when searching near the busy road.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO STEP FOOT ON THE DUALCARRIAGE WAY!!!
