And The Winner Is... Event Cache

Come to CSFD Station 16 at 1PM for an event where we will oficially announce the winner of the 2014 TravelBug race (which was started at the Weeknight February Meet and Greet Event).  We will also be doing a Cache Exchange, so dont forget to hide a temporary cache (see rules in the description)!

"And the winner is..."

Find out at this event!  The race lasted six months from February 13th to August 13th, and we will be officially announcing the winner of the 2014 TravelBug Race! At 1PM, Come on down to the beautiful Colorado Springs Fire Station 16 at Oak Meadows Park (4980 Farthing Drive).  Bring your geocaching stories, discoverable trackables, and share strategies to win the next race! Plan about 90 minutes for this event.

Also, GCCO has been kind enough to sponsor this event with a Gold 2014 Geocoin to raffle off! Remember, you can't buy one of these gold coins, you can only win them at events like this!

We will also be hosting a cache exchange!  Simply hide a TEMPORARY cache nearby shortly before attending this event, and you will be entered into a drawing to find one that someone else has hidden.  You get to keep the cache you find!  Here are the actual rules:

• Must be within 3 miles of the event
• Temporary cache hide – not listed on Geocaching
• Container/contents value should be around $5
• No impactful hides or suspicious hides please!
• Bring the coordinates on a piece of paper, folded, with your ID and name
• Coordinates must be submitted by 2pm
• Do not take part if you can not stay at the event to the end

We are thinking the event will last about 90 minutes, and we will try to stick to the folowing timeline:

• 1PM-2PM: Meet and greet - sign the log book, mingle, visit trackables table. Plotting is an acceptable form of mingling
• 2PM: The reason you are here: Race winner announced! Much celebration!
• 2:30ish: Final Announcements. Those participating in the cache exchange will be drawing coords for their cache

• Parking in front of the station will be limited as the fire station will have a full staff. There is parking available right at the entrance, however I would like to save that for anyone who has a hard time getting across the park. There is plenty of room on Farthing Drive on the north side of the park to park on the curb of the street (that is where my truck will be!). It is a short 500 foot walk from the street to the building through the field. Please save those parking spaces in front of the building for those who attend who may not be able to walk across the field.

We would also like to discover/move a bunch of trackables, so don't forget to bring as many as you can! We will have separate areas for trackables that can be picked up from the event, and ones that should only be discovered and NOT picked up. Let's see those coins!
