John and I had aired down the tires on the FJ to make riding through the soft sand in the washes easier. On our way back from the Lake Shore Trail we decided a quicker route would be 86 to 78, but riding on the pavement with under-inflated tires is kind of mushy and squirrely so we decided to ride on the soft sandy shoulder south of the 78 for a short ways. We just happened to have a bunch of bison tubes and some rolls of duct tape so guess what we did?
