Keep NI Beautiful are monitoring the level of beach litter at fourteen beaches in Northern Ireland one of which is Hazelbank Beach. To meet the programme criteria, each beach will need to be cleared of rubbish following the litter survey to ensure that items are not counted twice and that is where our CITO comes in! There will be further CITOs over the coming year so if you can’t make this one hopefully you can make it to another. We plan to visit several different beaches so that everyone has the opportunity to attend one close to them.
Meet at the car park in Hazelbank Park, Newtownabbey at 10am where you can sign the log - look for the car with the CITO sign in the window.
Junior Cachers and Geo-dogs are very welcome but please be aware that Newtownabbey have very specific dogs by-laws in their parks. Please familiarise yourself with the map of Hazelbank Park Dog Exclusion Areas. The CITO organisers will not be responsible for any fines incurred by dog-owners.

Key to map:
Red: Red areas denote dog exclusion zones
Amber: Orange areas denote land where dogs must be kept on leads
Green: Green areas indicate land where dogs may be walked off-lead
Litter pickers, gloves, rubbish bags & hi-vis jackets can be collected at the car (feel free to bring your own if you prefer).
The event will finish about 11.30 when hot/cold drinks & biccies will be provided. (The infamous ‘Biscuit Cake’ may also make an appearance!)
Most importantly off all - HAVE FUN - and look after each other!
FYI - more CITOs being planned
