973 Kansas Rm
Welcome!
A couple of facts:
On April 19, 1899, Mayor Robert L. Marshman appointed Sarah Ann Richart as Dog Enumerator so that she could collect taxes on the dogs within the city limits. Those funds were used to purchase materials.
These materials were eventually placed in a building funded by a well-known philanthropist. While this original building was still in place, the present building was constructed. A conveyor belt system was placed between the buildings in order to make it easier to transfer materials from the old building to the new building. When the new building opened in 1966, the old building was razed.
The room in which you will find the cache will feature Kansas-based material, but you can also find information about the metropolitan area. Each person, please sign in at the door.
The cache can be accessed ONLY during open hours and if staffing allows. Please don't shy away because of the limited access. Sometimes staff can accompany you in order to find it without an appointment. Call call ahead and make an appointment though to ensure you will have access. Ask if you can search in the room in true geocache hunting fashion.
