Geocache Description:

This cache was placed where the Jonkmanspruit road cross over the Blyde river. The magnificent Drakensberg mountains in the background provides a beautiful scenic view.

On the 18th of January 2012, Hoedspruit experienced one of the worst floods in recorded history. Over 700mm (more than double the average rainfall) fell within an 18 hour period.. The effects of the flood can still be seen as the force of the water uprooted many trees in the area.
