Geocache Description:

Is there a reason to get together and talk caching? Does the calendar need to reflect a significant date, or a hisorical event? I suggest not.

I scoured the internet. Nothing happened on this date worth mentioning, and I found nothing of note. I offer you these "events" so if you would like to recognize one of them, so be it.

1010 – Ferdowsi completes his epic poem Shāhnāmeh. (Did not rhyme. I like rhyming poems)

1126 – Following the death of his mother Urraca, Alfonso VII is proclaimed king of Castile and León. (Very sad, but good for your Urraca) (who?)

1777 – Regiments from Ansbach and Bayreuth, sent to support Great Britain in the American Revolutionary War, mutiny in the town of Ochsenfurt.(Is this off Route 31?)

1916 – World War I: A British force unsuccessfully attempts to relieve the siege of Kut (present-day Iraq) in the Battle of Dujaila.(Oh yeah, we all know that)

1917 – International Women's Day protests in St. Petersburg mark the beginning of the February Revolution (so named because it was February on the Julian calendar).(Is this like Ladies' night?)

1979 – Philips demonstrates the Compact Disc publicly for the first time. (Hello, I have an Ipod)

1983 – U.S. President Ronald Reagan calls the Soviet Union an "evil empire".(And he was right, tear down this wall)

Wow, time to order a cake.

Maybe something big will happen on this date when we get together and we will all look back and say "Oh, I was at that dumb dkeato event when I heard the news of .............."

So as this date means little, I expect you have nothing to do, so come by an buy me a beer. (not required to log this cache)

Lets meet at 6pm and I wager we stay until at least 9pm (although The Orr Knights have been known to close out a place). Pour House 200 South Ave, Fanwood
