NAN O'FRAN is Geo. B. Rick's cousin from Texas. As is everything else from Texas, Nan is HUGE. Geo. was able to visit Nan a few weeks ago, while on his delivery route through the southern states. While out at her ranch, Geo. helped her with some much needed chores. One thing he did for her was to change the OIL and FILTER on her tractor. The oil was very old and BLACK. George talked Nan into coming back with him to Breckenridge County, to visit the rest of the family. This sounded good to her, so she hopped into his big rig and rode with him through the rest of his route, and back to KY.

It was very cold in Tx, and she thought she might be going to warmer weather. Wrong! The winter storm followed them on their route. It was soo bad in Birmingham, Alabama, and in Atlanta, Georgia, that thousands of folks were stranded in their cars. The ice was so thick, and everywhere. These cities rarely ever get this kind of weather, so they did not have enough equipment or salt to deal with the ice. People were stranded on the highways, in parking lots, literally everywhere, unable to move. Many many people could not leave the big box stores, so they just slept in the isles. It was so strange to see soo many abandoned vehicles. It looked like the day after the rapture.

Not only was it rough in Georgia, it was rough back here at home too. George's wife was snowbound down here in the holler for two weeks. The hill was completely covered with about 8 inches of fresh snow. Over the 2 weeks there was rain, sleet, and freezing rain, and more snow. What a mess! Finally through the help of a friendly neighbor, she was able to get up the hill, and in to town to restock the cupboard with more vittles for all the little ones.

Nan is enjoying her visit here in Breck county. She says she is gonna stay long term.

Can you find her? Stop by and visit her if you get the time. She has enough room to house collectables, and travellers for a time. She has a special gift for her first visitor. Be blessed y'all.
